Care & Washing Guide
🧼 How to Care for Your 100% Alpaca Sweater
Keep it soft, beautiful, and made to last.
Alpaca wool is naturally luxurious, durable, and soft — but it requires gentle care to maintain its quality. Here’s how to wash, dry, and store your alpaca clothing properly.
🫧 Washing Instructions
Hand wash only. Avoid the washing machine and dryer.
1. Fill a clean sink or basin with cool or lukewarm water (never hot).
2. Add a small amount of mild soap – choose a wool-safe detergent or baby shampoo.
3. Submerge the sweater and gently swish it around. Do not scrub, twist, or wring.
4. Let it soak for 3–5 minutes.
5. Rinse thoroughly with cool water until all soap is gone.
🚫 What to Avoid
No hot water (can cause shrinking and felting)
No bleach or fabric softener
No wringing, twisting, or scrubbing
🧺 Drying Instructions
Air dry only.
1. Gently press out water (don’t wring).
2. Lay flat on a clean towel, then roll the towel to remove excess moisture.
3. Lay flat to dry on a dry towel or drying rack, away from direct sunlight or heat.
Do not hang, as this may stretch the fibers.
🧣 Storage Tips
Fold gently and store in a cool, dry place.
Use a breathable cotton bag (not plastic) to prevent moisture build-up.
Keep away from moths: add natural moth repellents like cedar chips or lavender sachets.
✅ Bonus Tips
Limit washing. Alpaca is naturally odor- and dirt-resistant; often, airing out is enough.
If stained or unsure, use a dry cleaner with wool experience.
